Lily Ahn began her artistic journey as a personal passion while working in finance in the early 2000s. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the depth of human emotion, she seeks to capture fleeting moments and translate them onto canvas.
Alongside her professional career, Ahn joined a group of fellow artists for plein-air and live painting, while also exploring sculpture and experimenting with different media, including ceramics and paper. These experiences broadened her artistic practice and encouraged her to explore different ways of expressing light, form and emotion.
Attending a portrait painting course at Chelsea College of Arts further developed her interest in capturing character and emotion through the human figure.
